I go to prepare a place for you and if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:2,3That is all Jesus wants, that is what he wanted when he went to the cross was for us to be with him and delight ourselves in him and he in us. In proverbs we find that this was how he felt from the beginning, He said, "My delight was with the sons of men." He had his heart set on us when he laid the foundation of the world. His invitation throughout the bible is a personal one. In revelation we learn that we will see his face and he himself will wipe all tears from our eyes with his own hand. God's eternal purpose is wrapped up in us. In giving us the key role in his eternal purpose, he has bound himself to us forever. You say, wait, didn't Jesus have the key role? After all he is the redeemer. Yes and no. Because he is the redeemer but without us, he would have no one to redeem. The relationship of the Redeemer and the redeemed is inseperable because without one, the other also does not exist. God would still be God but he would not be known as the redeemer of anything. Face it. You were created for intimacy with God. You were created to behold the Savior's face and know the love of Christ that goes far beyond natural knowledge. Jesus wants you to be with him where he is, to behold his glory up close and be forever blown away and lost in his love. The Lord's portion is his people.
